OUR MISSION

Ameena Hamid Productions was set up to create joyful, honest and innovative high-quality theatrical, audio and live capture productions and to be a meaningful champion for those whose stories don't get told. We believe that all people should have access to entertainment that reflects their experiences. Whether they want to work in the entertainment industry or not, everyone deserves to feel at home in an audience. AHP commits to making sure that in ours, they do. Our audiences are the beating heart of what we do.

The work we produce brings underrepresented stories, people and storytellers to the forefront, both on and offstage. We actively expand the opportunity to work in this sector and to access representative entertainment, no matter your background.

AHP aims to increase inclusivity and representation in theatre and its audiences because leaving anyone out shouldn't make sense.

“I am a producer so I can tell stories. I grew up without many people who looked like me on stage and screen. One-handed Black daughters of immigrants are rare to find in the public eye or the entertainment industry.

I was lucky enough to have access to theatre and a community of people who pushed me to carve out a space in the industry and create the job I love. I firmly believe that everyone needs champions (real or fictional) and heroes (super or otherwise) that reflect them and have wide ranging experiences, emotions and thoughts. I am not interested in putting raw trauma onstage, rather I want to work in joy, honesty and protest.” - Ameena Hamid, Company Director
